Applied Research Scientist

GenNext Technologies is seeking an outstanding, highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and resourceful applied research scientist with expertise in structural proteomics to work with our customers, research & development, sales, and marketing teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and perform hydroxyl radical protein footprinting in protein biochemistry and biopharmaceutical analysis
  • Analyze customer samples as part of the company’s fee-for-service business
  • Assist in generating product application literature, presentations, and posters
  • Contribute to the creation of intellectual property and technical know-how
  • Interface with design scientists and engineers on application concerns for product development
  • Work with R&D on product development and applied workflows/protocols
  • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism while interacting with company clients, as well as an innate ability to establish, manage, and maintain client-company rapport
  • May require approximately 10-25% travel

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD or MS + 3 years in biochemistry, biophysics, analytical chemistry, structural biology, or related fields
  • Functional knowledge, understanding, and hands-on experience with LC-MS(n) for proteomics research
  • Ability to work as an effective and efficient team member
  • Strong experimental design and troubleshooting with analytical skills
  • Participate in data interpretation/analysis and prepare reports/presentations
  • Self-motivated scientist, with demonstrated enthusiasm and curiosity in their scientific work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design and performance of protein footprinting (HDX, HRPF, Crosslinking, etc.) to study the higher order structure of proteins
  • Experience handling protein for immunoassays, gel electrophoresis, and protein separation/purification schemes
  • Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture techniques, handling and maintenance of cell lines, and performing transient and stable transfections

Manufacturing Technician

GenNext Technologies is seeking a highly motivated, resourceful, and critically-thinking manufacturing technician to work with our manufacturing, engineering, and product support teams.

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Assemble and test instrumentation by following technical drawings and schematics.
  • Manage inventory to ensure on-time and successful completion of instrument manufacturing. This includes performing inventory physical counts and checking bills of materials to accurately procure necessary parts as well as performing incoming parts inspection.
  • Document and communicate problems and ideas to engineers to improve existing products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in a technical discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic experience with digital multimeter, drill press, soldering iron, etc.
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Familiar with CAD software (Solidworks, eDrawing, etc.) is a plus.

Compensation

  • GenNext offers a salary of $40k – $50k a year and benefits as well as employee stock options competitive with other growth-stage companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.
